Home to a former textile mill on Portland Avenue, North Star Lofts features one of the most prominent landmarks in our city’s landscape — the historic North Star Blankets sign. Inside this seven-story, 36-unit building you’ll find bold vintage character mixed with industrial detailing. Interiors feature original brick and masonry walls, expansive ceiling heights and visible ductwork. North Star Lofts also offers a solid array of amenities including an onsite fitness center, two shared rooftop terraces and 23 guest parking spaces. The North Star Lofts’ location provides residents with direct access to the Stone Arch Bridge and the Mississippi riverfront. Converted from a turn-of-the-century textile mill, North Star Lofts was once home to the nation’s largest manufacturer of wool blankets. The building itself sat vacant for nearly 50 years before being converted into residential lofts. Atop this warehouse conversion sits the North Star Blankets sign, a remnant of the building’s textile manufacturing past and arguably one of the most iconic vintage signs along the Mississippi riverfront.
