Whitney Landmark

Classic brick with a sophisticated twist

Built from the ground up in 1879, the historic Standard Mill has been given new life as residential housing. Now known as Whitney Landmark Residences, this eight-story condo conversion features 32 industrial one, two and three bedroom homes. Inside of Whitney Landmark you’ll find classic brick and timber lofts with a sophisticated twist. Interiors showcase a wealth of native brick and original woodwork, vaulted ceilings, broad windows and open floor plans. As for location, Whitney Landmark is just steps from Gold Medal Park and the Mississippi riverfront. It’s also within easy walking distance of some of downtown’s trendiest restaurants, bars and coffeehouses.

A TRUE INDUSTRIAL CONVERSION

More than a century before the Whitney building was converted into condos, it was known as the Standard Mill. Built in 1879, the Standard was one of several mills constructed along the Mississippi during a period of rapid expansion along the West Bank in the 1870s.

FORMERLY THE WHITNEY HOTEL

In a previous life, Whitney Landmark Residences was known as the Whitney Hotel. In the 1980s and 1990s, the boutique hotel attracted celebrity guests like the Rolling Stones and Janet Jackson. Despite this, the hotel struggled to generate enough business and eventually closed it’s doors in 2003.
